Musings about Believing in Causes
I was having a chat with a good friend about the tragedies of past wars. I suddenly asked him a question: Would you be able to kill someone?
He gave the question some thought. “Perhaps if I believed in a cause enough.”
Therein lay a deeper question. Where is the line between supporting a cause and believing in a cause enough to kill? And how do you know if you’ve crossed it? Is there even a line or is it a shadowy area that happens gradually?
It makes me question myself more. It makes me question others’ motives more.
