Musings on Crossing Paths

Sometimes, when I stand behind a person in line or say a random hello to a person on the street, I think to myself, how strange that our paths cross like this.

Think about it.  This person has a life, loves, dreams, celebrations of their own that are probably completely unlike mine and yet, in that one moment in time, out of all the days of their lives, they’re standing in front of me in that line or walking down the street.  Our eyes meet and then we turn away and we’re probably never going to see that person again.

How many random meetings happen over the course of a day?  Over the course of a lifetime?

More importantly, that one second of paths crossing, how does it affect my life and how did it affect your life?
